About CONSTRU India 2011
The infrastructure sector in India has seen impressive
transformation in the last few years. For a speedy
progress of our country, the development of Infrastructure
in Indian cities and multi-modal transport connectivity
are extremely vital. Keeping this in view, CONSTRU India
2011 will focus on six major segments viz. Urban
Infrastructure & Transport, Green & Intelligent Buildings,
Build with Steel, Construction Engineering & Design,
Construction & Building Materials, Electricals in
Building.
CONSTRU India 2011 offers an opportunity to meet top
manufacturers, architects, construction engineers,
contractors, specifiers, consultants and decision–makers
in the infrastructure industry from all over India and
overseas. With a successful 11-year track record, the 2011
edition will feature over 150 exhibitors showcasing latest
technologies, equipments & services in approximately 5000
sq.mtrs. exhibit-display area.
Sectors covered :-
Urban Infrastructure & Transport
Urban transport is a key element of urban infrastructure.
The urban development ministry is examining the proposals
of seven metro rail projects in different parts of the
country, with a total investment of Rs 43,360 crore. Two
pioneering efforts in public transport in India have come
about in Kolkata and Delhi. Delhi Mass Rapid Transit
System (MRTS), a joint venture between Government of India
and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, is
being implemented by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation
(DMRC).Road and highways minister Kamal Nath said, "India
will soon get a loan of $ 3billion loan from the World
Bank for building roads in the country". This section will
analyse the scenario, estimating basic investment needs in
Urban Transport & discussing methods of resource
mobilization.
Construction Engineering & Design
Construction Engineering & Design is needed, to ensure a
safe and a stable construction environment, especially as
it relates to rehabilitation projects. Engineering experts
are dedicated to designing and building safe, livable, and
healthy projects for residential and commercial
structures, retaining walls, drainage and soil stability,
road & highways, railways, ports & dams, airports etc.
Build with Steel
According to the Investment Commission of India
investments of around US $ 30 billion in steel are in
pipeline over the next five years. It has been forecast
that the apparent Steel use point in India will increase
by 11.8 percent in 2011. The per capita consumption of
steel in our country is 46 kg, which is much below the
global average of 150 kg. The aim is to increase the
target to 90 kg by 2014. Simultaneously, steel consumption
in the country in the last five years has risen by a
compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.54 percent.
Electricals in Building & Construction
Electricals are an essential element to any successful
building project from conception to day-to-day
operations.. India Offers a huge market , as per estimates
of Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council, an
investment of the order of Euro 1000 billion would be
required in housing/building sector until 2011. Energy
efficient products and eco-friendly solutions are now the
key growth drivers for the Rs 5000 crore lighting industry
.Developments in newer technologies like LED's which have
a lifetime of upto 50,000 hours or approx 25 years, will
open new ways of deploying lighting solutions. The market
potential offered by energy efficient lighting products is
huge. Therefore, the demand for Electricals in Building &
Construction is on a rise
Green & Intelligent Buildings
Green building brings together a vast array of practices
and techniques to reduce and ultimately eliminate the
impacts of buildings on the environment and human health.
There are several key steps in designing sustainable
buildings which reduce loads, optimize systems, and
generate on-site renewable energy. This section is
designed to showcase the progress made, deliberate the
potential opportunities and challenges facing the industry
and to create a roadmap for sustainable growth and
development.
Construction & Building Materials
India faces an increasingly urgent challenge for building
a reliable and efficient infrastructure speedily.
Geosynthetic products like the Geogrids, Geotextiles,
Geonets, Geomembranes offer new, viable geotechnical
engineering materials which helps in significant economic
and social benefits. Better quality of construction and
building materials can play a significant role in
achieving not only speed but also major improvements in
quality and economy in infrastructure construction. This
Section dedicated to the innovative use of materials in
construction and repair.
